There is really no rhyme or reason or skill behind this. I uploaded it just because I figured maybe someone would like it because it's colorful and not very representative. This piece is actually just a piece of rough cut poplar painted in acrylic and sprayed with a gloss. I painted this just to test how poplar would take acrylic paint and how it would look finished with a spray gloss. I'm painting a night table inspired by Salvador Dali in acrylics for an Interior Design class, and I just needed to make sure that the technique would work. These are the planned designs for the table if you are interested, table design: [link] shelf: [link] . I just started slapping paint on the piece of wood and this is what ended up with. I titled it "Impression Sunset" because it reminded me a little of Van Gogh- not that I'm comparing myself to him- just the use of color and undefined lanscape aspect reminded me of his work. Anyways, it doesn't show any skill or anything, but I figured, what the heck, its different from anything else in my gallery and I love sunsets...lol
these are such beautiful colors! good work!
I agree, I'd love to see more of this! So different, and very Van Gogh. It's brilliant to try new things
Thanks girl! This was a fun, "no-strings-attached" project! Just messing around, waiting to see what came of it . Thank you! Maybe I'd be less stressed about projects if I did more "impressionistic" work lol!
Do more of this!
