Henry Cavill, the next 'Man of Steel'

I have to say, though my portraits are never perfect (I continue to do them because I love trying to portray the human face and I always want to improve my technique), this one is one of my favorites- and not just because of subject matter . This is my “man muse” as I call him, Henry Cavill. I have been a big fan of Henry’s since he appeared in The Count of Monte Cristo. For years I’ve been thinking, wait til Hollywood notices him! He’s going to be big! A week before he was announced as the next Superman (in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel), I was saying that he would be perfect for the part, but probably wouldn’t be considered for the most iconic American superhero because he was British. Thank goodness they realized he was the perfect guy for the job despite his country of origin! He’s also known for Immortals, mostly for the Tudors, and he just came out in The Cold Light of Day with Sigrourney Weaver and Bruce Willis. I couldn’t’ wait until next summer to portrait him as Superman, drawing him with the S-shield kind of made up for it .
