Yes, another fan art of Princess Tamina from this summer's "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time." This is of course Gemma Arterton as Princess Tamina, the beautiful, feisty desert Princess that eventually wins over Prince Dastan. I'm not very good at realistic portraits. I've attempted Tamina in charcoal, and I think that was more successful than this, and one of my better works to be honest, so please have a look at that if you like this at all [link] This just wasn't turning out and I was driving myself crazy fiddling with the eyes, which I wanted to be perfect- oh well. I came to the conclusion that realism is just seriously frustrating and in all honesty though I admire everyone with that skill and strive to be better at it, I'm learning that adding my own flair can a lot of times be more fun, less frustrating, and more unique. So therefore, this became more of an experiment in color. It is by no means exactly like the reference photo, but I think it at least pays homage. I've got a piece in the works that will be somehwat like this, but more of an "illustration"/original character type piece- so no stress, and I look forward to it! I plan to use the same technique as I used here- Prismacolor pencil, marker, and a white paint pen. Thanks, comments are welcome! I have to say, the full view is much better too.
